Not just a wacky actress and stand-up comedienne but a determined entrepreneur introducing SA’s premiere improvisation troupe, Jittery Citizens, to local audiences.

When I was a little girl, I was…

Addicted to chocolate…I still am!

Improvised acting in front of a live audience can be compared to…

Cooking with a blindfold on - the final product tastes good, you’re just never 100% certain of what you’re going to get.

Who/what inspires your stand-up material?

Most of my stand up comedy material is inspired from the “The Sh*t My Boyfriend Says”. This would also be the title of my first book, should I ever write one.

The best part of my job is…

People pay me to be silly in front of them! I get to play all day. When I was younger I used to love to dress up and pretend. I chose a career path where playing dress up and pretend is essential – so not much has changed.

My favorite part of the country is…

The Wilderness. It’s paradise.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in was...

Pezula in Knysna. It has an indoor pool and a secluded beach. When everyone was leaving I hid in the walk-in closet, in an attempt to miss my flight.

Who would you choose to get stuck with on a deserted country road with no petrol?

Ryan Gosling (for obvious reasons). Hopefully, we’d be stuck somewhere boiling hot and would need shade, where I would then suggest using his clothes to build a teepee.

A good actress/ comedienne will never travel without…

Her make-up bag, a great antiperspirant and a notebook to jot down any funny experiences.

I believe South Africans can teach the world…

How to make good Biltong. Beef Jerky just isn’t the same.

All visitors to South Africa must experience…

Our wildlife, wine, taxis, shebeens, chocolate, local art, 7de Laan on SABC2 and, most importantly local theatre, especially improv comedy – it’s a blast.

Go check out Jittery Citizens! They perform every last Sunday of the month at The Market Theatre in Newtown.
